Campus & Student Life

Robert Morris University (www.rmu.edu) is located on 230 acres in Moon Township, Pa., 20 minutes west of downtown Pittsburgh. The University also has two satellite locations, the Center for Adult and Continuing Education in downtown Pittsburgh, and the Regional Learning Alliance in Cranberry Township, Pa.

The campus is a 10-minute drive from Pittsburgh International Airport and is accessible by bus.

Of the University’s 5,100 students, about 1,200 live on campus in one of 12 residence halls. Many undergraduate and graduate students choose to live nearby and commute to classes.

RMU's campus is safe and patrolled by the Office of Public Safety, which employs 11 sworn police officers with full arrest powers and training.

Campus activities include:

  • 23 men's and women's intercollegiate sports teams 
  • Several club sports and an extensive intramural sports program
  • More than 50 clubs and organizations

RMU students enjoy many campus resources including:

  • 300 general-use desktop computers that provide access to e-mail, the Internet, laser printers and user support
  • RMU’s Island Sports Center
  • Recently renovated fitness center and bookstore

Academics & Enrollment

Degrees

Robert Morris University offers more than 30 undergraduate programs and 18 master's and doctoral degree programs.

Cost

RMU is one of the most affordable private universities in Pennsylvania. For most undergraduates at the University, tuition and fees come to about $25,000. And over 90 percent of full-time undergraduate students receive financial aid in the form of grants, loans, scholarships or work-study jobs to help them pay for their education.

Admission

RMU considers students for admission as soon as their application materials are received and evaluated by the Office of Enrollment Services.

Faculty

RMU employs more nearly 188 full-time and 250 part-time faculty members. Of the University’s full-time faculty members, 85 percent have earned the highest degree available in their field.

The University has an average of about 16 students for each faculty member, so class sizes are small. Students receive individual attention from caring professors who know them personally.
